French Atelier “Bargue Method” Drawing

Drawing is a way of coming upon the connection between things, just like metaphor in poetry reconnects what has become separated.
— John Berger

I was introduced to this method while taking a drawing class at Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park, FL, with the amazing instructor, Joe Mattus.

The Bargue Method is technical and slow and quite different from other methods of drawing that I’ve learned over the years (such as Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain).

I love it because it forces you to slow down (becoming a form of active meditation) and because it gets results.
